About me
I hold a Diploma in Patholinguistics from the University of Potsdam (2005). I have been trained in both linguistics and speech-language pathology and I strongly believe in the mutual benefit of theory and therapy. Currently, I am a staff member of the Cognitive Neurolinguistics group. Responsibilities include supervision in aphasia assessment and intervention and teaching of accompanying courses as well as administrative tasks.
My research centres around the question of how morphologically complex words are represented in the mental lexicon. In my PhD project, I investigate the processing of German prefixed verbs in healthy speakers and in patients with acquired reading and writing disorders.
As speech-language therapist, I worked in a private SLT practice where I treated children with developmental disorders as well as patients with acquired aphasia, dysarthria or apraxia of speech. I am board member of Verband für Patholinguistik (vpl) and Deutscher Bundesverband der akademischen Sprachtherapeuten (dbs).
